Point 11 Little Miss Sunshine



Key Shot 1

Shot 1 shows the main star, Olive in an extreme close up, the emotion shown is concentration This is important as the audience can see that she is a young girl with a adult concentration.

Key Shot 2

This shot is a close up of Olive practising her reaction to winning the pageant contest. This shows the audience the young inspiring girl wants to be a beauty Queen.

Key Shot 3

The shot of the beauty queen shows the contrast between Olive's family's lifestyle and the lifestyle of a beauty queen being glamorous.

Key Shot 4

The audience is introduced to Olive's dad, we are given the impression he is a hard working character who wants to provide for his family the best he can.

Key Shot 5

Olive's brother doesn't say anything in his shot however is  doing some exercise, which shows concentration and possibly he is made to feel the need to take care of his appearance.

Key Shot 6

The sixth shot is of Olive's grandfather, who is seen taking heroin, this suggests to the audience he is not a  great influence to Olive, giving the audience someone to criticise.

Key Shot 7
 This shot shows Olive's mum smoking whilst driving this shows she doesn't lead a healthy lifestyle which could be due to a stressful life. This allows the audience to judge her relationship with the family.

Key Shot 8

This shot shows (Olive's dads brother) Uncle Frank in a wheelchair with a gown on in a hospital. This suggests to the audience he is incapable of looking after himself because of the hospital environment.

Key Shot 9

This close up of Uncle Frank shows the audience the emotion of exhaustion and gives the audience a sense of  a deeper meaning behind his admission in to hospital.
